(DALIANNEWS)- The port city of Dalian embraces another sports pageant, which is the 16th Dalian International Walking Festival, on May 19 and 20, 2018.

On the first day of the festival, more than 250,000 people from different countries including Norway, Russia, Belgium, South Africa, Luxembourg, Britain, Japan, South Korea and China take part in the event.

The walking route covers a large number of local attractions and beautiful scenery this year. Walking lovers can not only enjoy the fun of sports but also appreciate the charming scenery of this coastal city. 

Anemi Kleynhans from South Africa receives an interview.

“It’s super cool! Everybody can participate in the walking festival. They can walk on their own pace, and enjoy themselves. I’m very excited to be here, and I will definitely come back again if I have a chance.”, said Anemi Kleynhans from South Africa, who takes part in the walking festival for the first time in Dalian.

George Leal from Britain receives an interview.

”It’s my first time to join in this festival, and my target is 20 kilometers today. The walking festival here will be one of my best memories in China. I really enjoy my time here.”, said George Leal from Britain.

Ladies from Russia who join in the 20-kilometer walking route receive an interview.

“Friendship for China, and friendship forever! The scenery along the walking route is very beautiful, and people are very friendly. We are happy to be here in your city. We love Dalian.”, said a lady from Russia who joins in the 20-kilometer walking route today. 

The walking route starts from Donggang CBD and ends at different places according to various distances of 5km, 10km, 20km and 30km. Apart from the main venue at Donggang CBD, the walking festival also includes seven branch venues for walking lovers in Ganjingzi district, Lushun, Shahekou district, Pulandian, Wafangdian, Hi-tech zone and Golden Pebble Beach.
