(DALIANNEWS)- The 27th Dalian Acacia Flower Festival and Northeast Asia International Tourism Cultural Week will be held in Dalian, a port city of Northeastern China’s Liaoning Province, May 22 to 28, 2016， news announced from the press office of Dalian Municipal Government.

Initiated in the year of 1989, Dalian Acacia Flower Festival has been held successfully for 26 years. Now it has become a popular event for tourists worldwide.

The festival will include a total of twelve activities in the main venue and nine activities in other sub-venues this year, such as the opening ceremony, performances, and international tourism culture exchange activities.

Apart from that, the festival will also set up theme-day performances for Japan, South Korea and Russia.

The festival is expected to receive tourists from more than ten countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Russia, Byelorussia, Thailand and Hungary this year.

The Hungary counselor in China, the director of Kyrgyzstan National Tourism Administration, the president of South Korea National Tourism Organization and the president of Japan ANA are confirmed to attend the event up till now.

The 1st China-Japan Tourism High-end Forum will also be held in Dalian from May 23 to 24 during the festival. It has invited more than 40 cities and organizations from Japan, and 18 cities are confirmed to attend the forum at present.

Dalian has an acacia flower planting area of 850,000 mu. Local citizens and tourists can enjoy the charming of acacia flowers in urban areas, special tourism scenic spots, local colleges and public fitness trails.
