Dalian Maternity Hospital (Dalian Maternity and Child Care Hospital), founded in 1946, is the only municipal hospital specializing in maternal and child health care in Dalian. It covers medical care, treatment, scientific research and teaching, and has the affiliated institutions of Dalian Family Planning Scientific Research and Child Medical Care Research. In the year 1995, it was given the title "Baby-friendly Hospital" jointly by the United Nations Children's Fund, WHO and China's Ministry of Health.
