(DALIANNEWS)- The 11th Dalian Citizens' Vertical Marathon will be held in Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning Province, at 8 am, January 1, 2013.

More than 300 contestants will take part in the event which includes a 1,083-step vertical course from the first floor to the 55th floor at the World Trade Center in Dalian.

Dalian Citizens' Vertical Marathon, also known as the Stair-climbing Competition, has been held for ten years in succession during the New Year period.

As a traditional sport, it has won great popularity among local residents.
