(DALIANNEWS)- The Dalian Citizens’ Vertical Marathon 2012, also known as New Year Stair-climbing Competition, is due to kick off at Dalian World Trade Building on the first day of the New Year of 2012.

According to the report, a total of three hundred participants will take part in this vertical course which comprises 1,140 steps starting from the entrance of Dalian World Trade Building to the finishing point on the 57th floor.

The vertical marathon, a traditional sport held for nine years in succession in Dalian during the New Year period, has won great popularity among the local residents.
