(DALIANNEWS)- The 9th Dalian International Walking Festival will be held in Dalian, a coastal city of Northeastern China’s Liaoning Province, May 21 to 22, 2011.

    The festival has started the enrollment work on May 8, and more than 10,000 people have signed up for this event in recent days.

    The number of the foreign participators has declined to one third of that of the previous year due to the influence of the Japan’s earthquake this March.

    The walking routes include 5 km, 20km and 30 km on May 21 and 5 km, 10 km, 20 km on May 22, basically the same arrangement with that of last year.

    According to the requirement of the International Walking Federation, the festival will be held at the third weekend of May every year in the future.

    The International Walking Federation has also decided to hold the annual meeting in Dalian in the year of 2016.
