(DALIANNEWS)- CRRC announced on March 20, 2019 that it signed a batch of agreements worth 50.23 billion yuan from January to March this year. Among them, CRRC Dalian signed a locomotive sale contract worth about 800 million yuan with China Railway Qingzang(Qinghai-Tibet) Group.
According to the contract, CRRC Dalian will provide China Railway Qingzang Group with the second batch of HXN3 plateau diesel locomotives, which are high-power AC-drive diesel locomotives designed in terms of the plateau operating environment, with a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a rated power of 3100 kW.
CRRC Dalian has gained an order of the second batch of HXN3 plateau diesel locomotives this time.

It can resist many adverse environmental impacts such as strong ultraviolet radiation, thin air, severe cold and anoxia, large ramps, bridges and tunnels, and meet the harsh traction requirements of Qinghai-Tibet railway.
The first batch of HXN3 plateau diesel locomotives provided by CRRC Dalian was used for freight trains along the Lasa-Rikaze Railway which opened in August, 2014, marking the domestic high-power locomotives putting into use on the "roof of the world" for the first time. In June 2018, the HXN3 plateau diesel locomotives officially took the lead of passenger train on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, crossed Tanggula Mountain and conquered the world's highest railway.
