(DALIANNEWS)- The port city of Dalian received 2.031 million domestic and overseas tourists during the week-long Spring Festival holiday from February 4 to 10 this year, a year-on-year increase of 10.56 percent. Tourism revenue climbed 12.68 percent to 2.801 billion yuan.
The city’s major tourist attractions received 1.5536 million tourists during this period, up 8.4 percent than that of the previous year, achieving the ticket revenue of 57.971 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.86 percent.
The Spring Festival holiday also saw a rich culture atmosphere this year. A total of 212 cultural performances were held at 12 major cultural venues in Dalian.
Lots of people visited Spring Festival painting show, auspicious relics show and Chinese culture art show in different museums, enjoyed classic ballet performance, Beijing Opera and crosstalk in cultural venues, watched movies in cinemas and spent well-lived days in bookstores.
Self-driving tourism and self-reliance tourism were still popular this year. Tourists tended to travel to suburban areas to enjoy snow scenery, skiing and hot spring during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday.
Picking strawberries, tasting rural food, enjoying lantern show and temple fair, as well as learning Chinese traditional folk arts became best choice for tourists to better experience the Spring Festival culture.
