(DALIANNEWS)- A delegation led by Eoin O'Leary, Irish Ambassador to the Peoples Republic of China, visited the port city of Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, to further discuss the communication and cooperation in fields of trade, investment, agricultural products, tourism and sports with local related departments during a business seminar held by Embassy of Ireland several days ago. Tan Chengxu, mayor of Dalian City, met with the delegation on Wednesday.
Tan extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and introduced the city's social and economic development. "Dalian is taking its advantages to speed up the construction of the new system of the open economy and further promote the opening-up level. ", said Tan.
Tan also expressed the willing for both sides to tap cooperation potential continuously, to deepen the communication in trade, software, sports, biological engineering, smart city construction and other fields, to encourage two-way investment and achieve mutual benefit.
Eoin O'Leary gave a brief introduction to the Ireland's economic and social development, especially the construction of Shannon Development Zone. He expressed that Embassy of Ireland would continue to play the role as a bridge to promote pragmatic cooperation between Dalian and Ireland in more fields and make positive contribution to the friendship between Ireland and China.
