SUVA, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Fijian Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama confirmed on Tuesday his attendance to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economic leaders' meeting, which will take place in Papua New Guinea (PNG) in November this year.

According to Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) on Tuesday, Bainimarama said that he also hopes to address the forum to voice the concerns of the Pacific to the region's leaders.

He described the forum as a great platform for all Pacific Island countries.

Last week, Prime Minister Peter O'Neill of Papua New Guinea was in Suva on his first official visit to Fiji and he invited his Fijian counterpart Bainimarama to address the APEC forum.

According to O'Neill, the summit will be attended by nearly 9,000 delegates from all over the world.

The summit, which will be held in PNG's capital city of Port Moresby, will provide  an opportunity for CEOs and top business executives to engage in dialogue with leaders of APEC members to discover opportunities and forge connections with businesses around the world.
