(DALIANNEWS)- Local airport is expected to transport up to 1.83 million passengers during the Spring Festival travel rush, an increase of 9.5 percent than that of the previous year, according to the statistics announced from Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport on February 1, 2018.
During this period, a total of 14,800 flights will also be operated at the airport in Dalian, up 7 percent compared with that of the last year.
The city of Dalian will witness the Spring Festival travel rush from February 10 to 14 before the festival, and from February 20 to 25 after the festival.
The city’s airport will also increase charter flights and air routes during the Spring Festival travel rush this year. According to the report, over 400 inbound and outbound flights will be increased during this period so as to meet the needs of the increasing number of the passengers.
The airport will operate tourism charter flights heading to Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia and Guam, USA during the Spring Festival travel rush. Flights heading to Taipei and other popular tourism destinations will also be intensified.
According to the local airport, there will be 22 flights heading to Shanghai, 20 ones heading to Beijing, and over 8 ones to other domestic first tier cities daily during this period. Other flights heading to Shenzhen, Kunming, Nanjing, Ningbo, Mudanjiang, Jiamusi will also be intensified.
