Preparation work basically completed for Summer Davos 2017

(DALIANNEWS)- The World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2017, also known as Summer Davos 2017, will be held in Dalian, a port city of Northeastern China's Liaoning Province, June 27 to 29. By now, the preparation work has been basically completed.

Starting from November last year, the municipal government of Dalian has made great efforts to prepare for the meeting this year.

For venue construction and facility security, all the work started on May 15 this year, now drawing to a close and ready to be checked. Facilities in Dalian International Conference Center such as water, electricity, gas and fire have been comprehensively tested and developed contingency plans.

For transportation support, a total of 518 cars have been settled, among which 30% are electrically operated. A Dispatch and Command Center and several other traffic command branches in the airport, meeting venue and train station have been established to ensure a well-organized traffic conditions during the three-day meeting.

A total of four clinic rooms have been set up at the meeting venue and the hotels, and four designated hospitals have been selected to guarantee the participators' physical health. The city of Dalian has also designated 11 local hotels to provide high-quality accommodation and catering service for the participators.

For volunteer services, 548 excellent young volunteers stands out of more than 5,000 applicants to serve the meeting, including etiquette volunteers, operation interpreters and bilateral interpreters. All the volunteers have finished their training and 520 of them have already been assigned to different positions.

Apart from that, a Cultural Soirée themed of Dalian Night will highlight the Summer Davos this year, presenting more Chinese elements and Dalian features including Chinese traditional folk arts such as Chinese calligraphy, paper cutting and sugar figure blowing art as well as other traditional culture programs such as tea art, Beijing Opera and traditional Chinese medicine.
