(DALIANNEWS)- The port city of Dalian saw a tourism boom in the three-day May Day holiday from April 29 to May 1 this year, according to Dalian Tourism Bureau on Monday.
During the three-day holiday, the city of Dalian received 825,100 domestic and overseas tourists, up 11.05 percent than that of the previous year, reaching a tourism revenue of 1.21 billion yuan, an increase of 12.87 percent.
The city’s scenic spots also witnessed 1.1786 million tourists, increasing 10.6 percent than that of the last year, achieving a business revenue of 117.5 million yuan, up 11.76 percent. Among them, the city’s hot springs saw 96,000 tourists, up 12.68 percent, and the rural tours received 165,500 visitors, increasing 12.2 percent.
A series of tourism events were held during the past May Day holiday, including the 9th China Dalian(Lvshun) International Cherry Blossom Festival, the azalea flower festival at Jinpu New District, sailing boat contest, a carnival night at Dalian Discoveryland Theme Park, fishing contest at Changhai, Flower festival at Zhuanghe and cherry blossom tour at Hi-tech zone.
