Dalian ranks 10th in China Sustainable Cities 2016

(DALIANNEWS)- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) issued the China Sustainable Cities Report 2016: Measuring Ecological and Human Development in Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, December 1, 2016.

The report issued a set of sustainable development evaluation system to examine Chinese cities performance in revenue, health, education, environmental pollution, resource consumption and other aspects, so as to make the city's development more inclusive and tenacious in the future.

The report also makes a ranking for 35 big and medium-sized Chinese cities in terms of their performance.

According to the ranking, Guangzhou wins the 1st place with a human development index of 0.869, followed by Beijing and Nanjing, while the port city of Dalian takes the 10th place in the comprehensive ranking with a score of 0.839.

Apart from that, Dalian also ranks 5th in life expectancy index, 13th in education index and 3rd in revenue index.

Other three cities in Northeast China also perform well in the comprehensive ranking including Shenyang(4th place), Changchun(17th place) and Harbin(27th place).
