(DALIANNEWS)– Picture taken several days ago shows a picturesque view of the Labor Park under a blue sky and white clouds in Dalian, a port city of Northeastern China’s Liaoning Province. The northern cities in China has seen a decline in air quality since this November when the cities in these areas started the heat supply in winter. However, the city of Dalian is different. The fine weather makes the city even more charming than ever in the early winter.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced the latest air quality ranking of this October several days ago. The port city of Dalian took the eighth place in the ranking list among 74 domestic cities, with the standard days ratio of 77.4%.

The ranking list is based on the pollution condition of six pollutants including sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, PM10, PM2.5, carbon monoxide and ozone.

The 74 cities in the list are the first batch of the domestic cities carrying out new air quality standard, known as AQI.

According to the statistics, the national average standard days ratio of these 74 cities is 65.9% in October, and Dalian reached 77.4%, up 11.5% than the average figure.

Dalian took the 11th place in the ranking among the 74 cities last October.

The city of Dalian has taken a series of measures to protect the environment in recent years. It has set up 26 automatic air monitoring points, monitoring the quality of atmospheric environment 24 hours a day.
