（DALIANNEWS）- A charity and fund-raising event was held in Dalian, northeast of China’s Liaoning Province, May 18, 2008, so as to show the local citizens’ care and love for the quake-hit areas in Sichuan Province. Totally 60.802 million RMB yuan was donated during the event last night.

The local medical team and relief team are ready for aiding the quake-hit areas.

“People from all walks of life in Dalian have donated 110 million RMB yuan since May 17, 2008. Together with 60.802 million RMB yuan donated tonight and the government’s reserve, the city’s donation has added up to 200 million RMB yuan.” said Mayor Xia Deren at the event.
