(DALIANNEWS)- A golf contest for members of Jinshi golf club was held in Dalian, a coastal city of northeastern China’s Liaoning Province, May 11, 2008, so as to welcome the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August this year.

A total of 115 golf lovers from Japan, South Korea, England, America and China and districts such as Hongkong and Taiwan joined in the competition yesterday.  

“The 2008 Beijing Olympics is a great event for the whole world. I am honored to participate in this golf game which is aimed at welcoming the Olympics,” said a Japanese golfer during the game.

“I am proud of our country’s hosting of the 2008 Olympics, and I believe that China will hold a successful event,” said Wu Zhenlai from Hong Kong.
