China's debut ship for navigatin teaching

(DALIANNEWS) - China's debut self- made field study ocean ship, Yukunlun, was completed in Dalian, China, Tuesday, April 8, 2008.

The modernized ship, which is 116 meters long, docked at the Dalian Port yesterday.

It'll be used in the teaching of Dalian Maritime University (DMU).

With a capacity of 40 tutors and stuff and 196 students at the speed of 16 knots per hour, the claimed one of the world's most advanced ocean ships, specialized in navigation practice is designed by Shanghai Ship Design Institute.

It'll be launched and made its first voyage on April 18, 2008.
