(DALIANNEWS) - A bunch of new measures will be carried out in an effort to stimulate returned intellectuals initiating in the city of Dalian, said the city's mayor Xia Deren here January 17, 2008.

Xia made the remarks during the awarding ceremony for the overseas talents contributing to the development of the city.

The Overseas Students Initiating Park of the High- tech zone has attracted 640 people to settle in with 319 firms setting up since its establishment.

The added value of the high-tech industry reached 57.5 billion RMB yuan in 2007, up 36.9 per cent year on year.
