The First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, located at the beautiful seashore city-Dalian, is situated in the center of the city-the People's square, next to the municipal government residency. It enjoys the city's most favorable environment and excellent greens with the most convenient transportation.

Set up in 1930, a small clinic with only 16 patient beds, the hospital underwent 70 years of growth through the hard work of several generations. Especially for the progress in the recent years due to the implementation of reform and opening policy, it is now the biggest comprehensive modernized hospital for medical care, teaching, and research in the wouthern part of Liaoning Provnce.

The hospital owns 1,280 beds. Its staff reaches to 1,790 with 297 high professionals, 200 specialists with PhD and Master degree. It has 27 clinical sections, 12 technical sections, 15 teaching and research departments, 27 executive divisions, and 6 institues with a clinical teaching task of 7 grades in 11 majors. It receives about 1.25 million of outpatient and emergent visits, treats 25 thousands of inpatients, and undergoes 14 thousands of surgical operations in a year. Its bed utilization maintained over 100% in the past consecutive five years with hospital stay of 12.6 days.

Department of the combination of Western medicine and Chinese traditional medicine,general surgery,orthopaedics,medical imaging,cardiology,and respiratory are the most adverced medical unities of Dalian.The hospital has gained reputation on its management of the following field:interventional treatment of arrhythmia and coronary disrase,pulmonary infarction,imaging diagnosis of peripheral moni-lung cancer,interventional therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma and malignant biliary obstruction,surgical treatment of rachioscoliosis,surgical treatment of hepatolithiasis,surgical treatment of intracranial arteriovenous malformation and aneurysm.
